Huge iceberg may cause climate cooling. The natural cycle?

A huge iceberg south of Australia may affect ocean currents and cause a cooling in the northern hemisphere.

BBC News - Vast iceberg 'may disrupt ocean currents'

I have a question about this: has it not occurred to warmists and other alarmists that this latest result of 'climate change' may well be part of the natural warming/cooling cycle? First there is warming, once it reaches a point it affects the Antarctic ice shelves, which in turn break off and affect ocean currents, which in turn results in cooling...

Yes, I agree mr X. All systems are temporal, given that the data we have is inaccurate pre 1950, possibly 1980-90, - It wouldn't surprise me in the next couple of centuries we find just how much 'exchange' our ionosphere and natural weather system is really capable of channeling.

If the NASA Tether incident didn't demonstrate the electrical potential, and sheer awesome power of the ecosystem we call planet earths interaction with the sun - providing so much energy exchange it could have destroyed a shuttle craft - we begin to understand, a million tornadoes do not come close to the sort of energies that could in deed be there - invisible like the undiscovered country of man.

Aren't all things though?

I say it's time for `warmists` to catch up on that argument, and give it some thought. Perhaps it has a glimpse of wisdom to it.

nice post,

Yours truly,
A

While yes, climate scientists currently don't include every possible affect in their models yet, they do currently include most of the significant ones, and are working their way down the list of feedback loops. The big issue is one of scale. I ask you Mr X, what happens when you run out of sea Ice?

Climate change is happening on a generational time period. The warming we are feeling now is mostly due to the initial industrial revolution. The effects of modern carbon emissions wont be felt of another 50-200 years. Sea Ice, as a guestimate, would only last 20-30 years tops. Beyond that, the climate will simply rebound to it's original heating rate.

Oh, and another thing. The currents (specifically the gulf stream) are responsible for our particularly warm winters for our latitude. Look at Canada and Russia on the same latitude and you will find -20 degree weather with 3 ft of snow. Currents = good, for us at least!

The warming we are feeling now is no warming at all. The climate has not warmed since the mid-nineties.

I am well aware of the effect of the Gulf stream on northern Europe's climate. The point I was making is that if the southern hemisphere sees enough ice in the ocean to affect global ocean currents, then that would include the gulf stream, possibly weakening it.
That would set off a cooling in the northern hemisphere, particularly in Europe, which in turn would affect global temperatures setting off a cooling trend thus increasing polar ice… on so the cycle goes on.
This is not unprecedented, witness the Little Ice Age which occurred between the sixteen and nineteen hundreds, which coincidentally enough followed on from a period of warming, the Medieval Warm Period.

The same happened in Roman times and also in Minoan times.

It is the planet's natural warming/cooling cycle. Unfortunately this has been hijacked by 'green' extremists who wish to impose their dogma on us.

What you have their is local cooling. The same currents that keep us warm also cool the equator. What your idea can't explain is how it can radiate more heat into space. The simple fact is, CO2 reduces the amount of energy radiating from the earth. Therefore the temperature will rise until equilibrium is re-established. All the iceberg stuff means is that it will likely screw us, even before the temperature finishes rising.
